As you all know the Carnage Cup is almost upon us once again

Now I'm putting to the Vote for everyone on here and at the club should the Carnage Cup be 1,500pts or 1,750pts, please vote but also please GIVE A VALID REASON (Cos I want that many points is NOT a valid reason) why you have voted as this feedback will help towards weither we keep the points the same or change them for our bigger tournaments.

The Reason I have Voted for 1500pts is because I find that this points cost stop lists that allow you to have your cake and eat it, that is to say you can have all the good stuff with mo drawbacks, where as 1500pts you have to make choises what to leave out.

it also might stop lots of special characters running around because they are too expensive for a 1500pts list and if they are included it's at a very big risk.

I'm going with 1750 because the minimum points value for most serious tournaments are also 1750. If i'm going to fight an army in a tournament, I want to know it was the toughest possible.

I voted 1500, as I feel at 1750 pts, you can select evrything you need, at 1500 you need to make some serious choices, and can't afford to have every unit you want.

1500 so that players with smaller armies can join in.

1500pts, but mainly because that's been the standard for as long as i've been gaming (why are tournaments now switching to 1750 anyway?)

1500 otherwise it starts to get silly! you can get the big bad stuff in 1500 of 40k for me there is no need to go 1750. which tournaments are 1750? Gt is still 1500 isnt it? that the most serious one i know of!

I much prefer 1500pts Everyone is on about 1750 but this is purely an American thing and the UK Gt is still 1500. A certain tournament that is run at this point limit is done this way because they like to do things differently and they always state this. Anyway they never come to are Club when invited and even delete my posts so lets stick with the proper GW 1500 lads

And I still think we should do things GT style.

Points for a win, draw or loss (doesn't matter how many objectives or KPs you earned) and then Victory Points scored.

It makes for a more aggressive game.

I'm afraid I've always been in the larger point camp i.e. aprox 2000pts, I am aware the rules suggest for larger games the appocalyps rules are used but why can't we play larger games under normal 40k rules like we used to just occasionaly in tournaments?!? We don't have to follow other clubs (like sheep, baa baa)!!!

Yes I completely agree with Pip.20-0 13-7 10-10 thing is rubbish. Stick GT if it aint broke don't fix it.

The p[roblem with bigger games, Ralph, is they take longer to play, so you get less games, and not everyone can field armies of that size.

1500pts for me.

If the UK GT's are still 1500pts, that is what we should play, giving new players the feel of a "real" tournament, without the often dreadful atmosphere.

is the idea to have all games, 1 after another on 1 day? if so then yes smaller points get in more games so in which case make it really quick and go for 1250, most established players will find that a real challange to work in all their favorite troops and will get some interesting combos that arent beardy. if the idea is to play over multiple club evenings, does it matter if the games take an extra 1/2 hour or so?

After the first 10 votes gave a 90% vote for 1500, we went with that points value.

The three games will be on different club nights.
