Okay after OW and Mikes insightful comments in my last nidlist thread I have developed this armylist, I am trying to go without the psychic scream, just to see what happens :)

HQ.

Hive Tyrant
Wings, +1BS, +1S, 2x Twin-linked Devourer.

Hive Tyrant
+1BS, +1S, 2x Twin-linked Devourer.
2 Tyrant Guard.

Elites.

5 Tyranid Warriors
Barbed Strangler, 4 Deathspitters.

Carnifex
Scything talons, Barbed Strangler.

Carnifex
Scything talons, Barbed Strangler.

Troops
.

8 Spinegaunts
Without number.

8 Spinegaunts
Without number.

6 Genestealers
Scuttlers, feeder tendrils.

6 Genestealers
Scuttlers, feeder tendrils.

Heavy Support.

Carnifex
Scything talons, Barbed Strangler.

Carnifex
+1BS, Barbed Strangler, Venom Cannon.

Carnifex
+1BS, Barbed Strangler, Venom Cannon.

So........

Tyrants are the same as ever, running around with 24 re-rolls between them. Warriors have gone all templatey. Fexes have brought some more pie to the party. Less WoN gaunts I always found I was overkilling with the amount of gaunts on my objectives and 2 Stealers to give me something to attack the enemies objective with, as Mike says not only does it keep the opp in the middle of the battlefield it gives me a scoring unit to get onto the opponents objective with.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks,

Lee

Sounds like a fine list indeed. Can't really fault it.

I guess the big tanks will still be a problem but as most are delivery systems these days they are going to have to come close enough to get eaten.

It's just such a shame that Venom Cannons only glance.

i think it's a good list lee! the only thing i would comment on is have you considered flesh hooks instead of feeder tendrils for the steelers?

vs Battlewagons they're very useful and other open-topped stuff. I did however blow up Will's Land Raider the other week :) But that's Will for you the dice are always against him.

The only tanks that really bother me is Land Raiders, because of the ghey machine spirit rule and Eldar stuff because they can just sit on my objective and with that Holofield it makes them almost impossible to kill.

You see with other tanks like Predators and Hammerheads I can stun them to stop them shooting and they can't zip fast enough in a turn to contest so it gives me plenty of time to eat them. Also don't forget Barbed Stranglers can penetrate and I've got 5 of them, I've destroyed many a vehicle with them. I don't think the anti-tank in this list is too bad, as Fexes are str 9+2d6 armour pen in melee and str8 with their guns.

For 1pt a model Ali your enitire unit and any unit within 6" of them gets to re-roll all of their attacks in combat. Flesh hooks are good but you need to hit with Stealers first nowadays before you will do any real damage. I would consider flesh hooks but it's hard to find the points in this list.

Thanks,

Lee

Yup.

Edit:

Damn those Feeder tendrils are hardcore, I've never actually expected them to be that good James. I think the Stealers work well in this list I just need to be careful with the gaunts.

Thanks,

Lee
