Quarter Finals Will Platten Vs Adam Johnson (will wins as Adam leave the kup) Alister Williams Vs Andy Dodd (ali beat andy) Phil Croft Vs John Garton (john beat phil) Mike Yemm Vs A drunken Female Gnome (mike just edged it but for a moment it was close!) After a few changes and last miniute updates the Semi Finals are as follows Semi Finals Will Platten Vs Alister Williams John Garton Vs Mike Yemm Any Moaning will be ignored, my decision is final! Gobstykup 2009 needs to be finished by end of Jan so please let have these games out of the way! |

Result Philip Croft (humans) 2 - 3 John Garton (Dwarfs) aet A damned close match, and I will try to do a match report tomorrow. |

The Dwarfs received and scored half way thru the first half by using the cage tactic. The humans equalised on the second to last turn by using a refused flank. Second half, the humans bomb bursted, while a single thrower hung back with the ball. In turn 4, under pressure from a pair of Longbeards, he threw a Long Pass into the waiting arms of a catcher, who promptly scored. The Dwarfs had only five turns to score, and managed on the last turn, by pummelling the humans into the turf. Winning the toss for extra time, the Dwarfs kept up their war of attrition, and it was inevitable, as they powered home on turn 5, in what was almost a carbo copy of the second touchdown. |

Just wanted to say cheers to Phil for a very close and very entertaining game of Blood Bowl last Thursday evening! With a few better bounces of the ball he would have stopped me on the drive that made it two-all and took it into extra time, and had he won the roll to receive I wouldn't have wanted money on my Dwarves finally being able to stop him either! It was a well played and very tense game - thank you! |

Any chance of an old fashioned Gobstykup next year? Play who you want (although I would say a limit of ten games in total, and no more than 2 against any one opponent) and then the four best teams (or eight if we have enough) go to the semi finals. I miss these old style games. |
