Jean-Pedro De La Salle looked over the rough maps his scouts had made of the area. It was going to be a hot entry.
Everywhere the planet map showed Red, Purple, Green highlights indicating xenos of wide ranging backgrounds and motives.
"Brother-Master, I don't understand why we don't just let them fight each other to a stand still, then mop up the remains at our leisure?" commented Brother-Captain Strom.
"Because, my old friend, it is not Imperial policy to allow xeno-forms to win battles in Imperial territory." replied De La Salle grimly, "Besides, our new 'friend' insists we make planet fall here to investigate something of interest to him."
"That something is more than just an interest Master De La Salle," interupted Inquisator Dieter, "It is something that holds the entire fate of this system in the balance and it must be aquired, though it cost a million lives to do so."
"What could be so important?" spat Jean-Pedro "What am I risking my men for?"
"You are risking the Emperors' men for him and his purpose, Master De La Salle, never presume that they are your lives to risk. They, as you, are his, and I am his voice. Never forget it. Ready the first wave."
Turning, the Mentor Grand Master indicated, with a nod, to his Captain for the assault to begin.
The assault begins with planet fall on Thursday. Various locations will be up for grabs. Bring an army, put your name on a slip of paper, the paper will go in either good or bad guys and at 6.30pm we will draw out opponents. Good luck. Any fluff or spin can be posted here.

Rokhan swung his fists violently unable to bring down the damaged Tau Hammerhead tank “Raaagh! Stop moving damn it!” he screamed in anger. The Hammerhead responded with a volley of shots from its Burst Cannons none of which were able to bring down the Darkmaker champion for his body felt no pain. Rokhan quickly dodged out the way as the tank shot past him before turning to face him once more. But before it could unleash another volley of weapons fire a powerful beam of energy stuck the side of the tank causing it to explode, the vehicle dropped to the ground in a blazing inferno, “stop playing around Rokhan!” yelled a deamon prince from a nearby rooftop. “I thought you and Korell would be able to handle such a small task like this” the deamon said as he glided to the ground next to Rokhan. “Sorry lord Sharazad we ran into… a bit of trouble” replied the warrior turning towards the fallen bodies of the Tau warriors, “So did you obtain the first piece of the artefact… where’s Korell?” “I’m here my lord” said a robed champion as he emerged from behind the burning wreckage, following him were several glowing ghost like spirits of warriors that were lost to the warp and whom were now slaves to his command. The blade of his halberd glowed with a cold green like energy and in his hand he held a cylinder covered in chaotic ruins, “we were able to locate and retrieve the artefact thanks to the Orks” he said looking across at the conflict still happening on the other side of the battlefield between the Orks and Space Marines.
“What now master, what is you command?” Rokhan said clenching his fists with anticipation. “These Orks impress me, their brutality and strength could be of great value” Sharazad said with a smile on his face as he observed the carnage from across the field. “We don’t need their help! Are forces are strengthened with every foe we slay why we…” “Keep you mouth shut you fool!” Korell barked “so master what do you wish us to do?” The deamon prince turned to face his champions “first we must obtain a large amount of weapons and vehicles for which we can trade in to the Orks in return for their cooperation; hopefully they will cause enough chaos to keep the focus of the other factions away from us. Allowing us to continue our business undisturbed.” “But my lord the local guard forces are located within the city walls they are too well defended for us to mount an attack on” Korell said, Sharazad laughed “I’m not talking about the Guard, I’m talking about that space marine chapter over there” he said pointing towards the conflict. “The Orks will get the weapons and we’ll get the manpower!” “Excellent idea my lord” said Rokhan. The deamon prince spread his wings and leapt into the air “Now let us withdraw" he said looking down at Rokhan and Korell, "Sindri and Zaceria are awaiting our arrival at the south pass”.

Farseer Tarja Turunen crept through the ruined building, her Pathfinders arrayed around her, their deadly Long Rifles at the ready. Behind her was the sleek shape of the grav tank, Planet Hell it’s Prism Cannon humming with energy.
The skeins of fate had brought them to this point; there was to be war amongst the Mon’keigh on this planet; that was certain. What remained to be decided was how long it would last? How many resources it would use up? How many lives expended on the altar of battle? Tarja had consulted with the runes; if she could prolong the conflict here, it would draw away a threat to Ulthwe and save many Eldar lives. So it was that she had taken a small strike force into the webway; her main aim being to ensure no side could gain the upper hand in the important opening stages of this war, thereby ensuring its longevity. Time was short however; she had but days to achieve this end before she was needed elsewhere.
Tarja let her mind roam free, surveying the battlefield. There was to be a meeting of filthy Orks and the arrogant Space Marines this day. The runes suggested the presence of the Dark Kin however, although it burned in her chest to do so she would not attack them this day, there were more important targets.
The Space Marines advanced cautiously across the ruins, letting fly with their weaponry, bringing down one of her Pathfinders. The Eldar returned fire with disciplined volleys of rifle fire, and devastating bursts of energy from Planet Hell. Many of the Mon’keigh fell under the withering barrage, checking their advance. Under cover of her troops’ fire, the Orks had been advancing on the Marines, who were now forced to switch their fire to the more immediate threat. Safe from that direction, the Eldar themselves switched fire to the Orks advancing on the stores they sought in the middle of the battlefield. Like the Marines before them, the Orks fell like wheat under the scythe. Across the battlefield, the Orks and Marines met in melee, each taking a bloody toll upon the other. In a final act of irony, as the closet mob of Orks cowered from the Long Rifle fire, just out of reach of the stores, the Dark Kin leant the fire to the battle, killing all but the brutish leader of the filthy greenskins.
As Tarja’s force melted away from the battlefield, she reflected on a job well done. The Orks and Marines had taken heavy casualties for little gain, there would be no quick victory for either of them.
[As an aside, after the battle, the Dark Kin were most dischuffed when their pizza delivery finally turned up 20min late and instead of a Meat Feast, they recieved an Anchovy Special, with extra garlic.]

"like ants they scurry"
"let us kill them now"
"let me eat their souls"
"let me corrupt brother"
"patience brothers, the ants will burn, for it is the ultimate future, but let us not interfere with fate and the workings of time, the moment is coming the time will be right and judgment will be served"[/i]

Kaptin Gargit awoke from the Doks table, and after throttling the dok (just for good measure) stomped out of the tent.
'Wheres ma gunz?' he bawled, Grots and Orks alike scurried for cover, as he lumbered over to a large pile of metal stuff.
'Call these gunz?' he hollered, picking up a boltpistol 'Dis iz no gud for a Nork. Weze bin ad boyz. Letz get dem spiky beakies and do dem gud'
Gargit tapped his nose ' I as a kunnin plan'...

Brother Captain Strom surveyed the carnage and piles of Ork bodies around him. Though eventually he knew his Marines would fight off the green tide, it would not give them time to consolidate their position at this location.
The Ork Warboss was wounded, possibly dead (although these greenskins possessed unprecidented regenerative powers) and without his leadership the rest of the Orks had no heart for prolonged battle. However, across the field he saw other Marines, bearing Ultra Marine colours, mopping up some xenos. He had received a call for aid earlier, and ignored it as any good servant of the Emperor would do.
Apparently these Marines were ignoring him. And he saw that they were beginning to fortify their positions. A closer look at them brought the recognition that they were not truely alive, foul unholy creatures outside the Emperor's wishes. They must be slain.
"Take note of this location, brother sergeant" ordered Strom, "for we must return here in greater number to cleanse this area of that foul breed." and sending a round of storm bolter fire into the Orks, the Mentors prepared to return to the battle barge with their injured comrades.
Mr Calver: Prepare to meet my Mentors upon the field of battle. 1500 points. Next week.

Aun-At’Tok watched the holo-monitor with mixed emotions. The first and the hardest to suppress was a great harrowing sadness at the loss of Shos’O Gra’fen and his hand-picked men. The Shas’O had already fallen to the ghostly figures of the Chaos Marines and more were closing in on the last remaining squad.
The second and most visible emotion was pride; Pride in the few remaining Shas’ui who were now bravely throwing themselves against these living dead. Knowing full well the futility of their struggle, the brave fought on against the unfeeling grotesque forms, all for the greater good.
“For the greater good” He had used the phrase countless times, even in his short time as Ethereal to this sect. However, never had he seen what it could ask of the warriors under his purview. They had known that death was guaranteed, that was why Gra’fen had volunteered himself. He was a warrior through and through and a retired life on a planet of his choosing was not what he wanted at his elderly age. He had gone to his men and asked of them: “who has the strength of spirit and dedication to the true cause to sacrifice themselves for the greater good? Who will stand beside me on the field of battle and make the enemy break against our chests! Who will stand with me!” It was a great speech and one for the vid-logs to replay at the training grounds.
At’Tok watched the holo-monitor until the feed was cut when the Hammerhead was brought down. Out of respect, the pilot ignored the green light from the drop command and waited for the Ethereal to finish his consternations. Several minutes passed before the nod from the ethereal came. The Orca was released along with the four escorting Tigersharks and together began its decent with the rest of the Cadre to the polar drop zone selected by himself. At’Tok had no concerns about fully divulging the true purpose of the decoy team’s objective. He knew that they would not allow themselves to be taken alive, let alone break under interrogation or torture.
The last feeling finally showed itself at the corner of Aun-At’Tok’s lips as the transport hit the upper atmosphere. The upturned curl of a smile was quickly suppressed as the realisation that his plan had worked and that the planet fall of the entire Cadre was progressing without the loss of life. He mentally corrected himself with a frown, without the loss of a single operational casualty. The Ethereal would ensure that these warriors would not be forgotten as another casualty, they would be remembered for their sacrifice to the greater good.
