Chris, make sure you play your next game using the ice table and terrain.

The rain fell heavily on the ruined city of ‘Toran’ buildings still burning from the destruction that had fallen upon the city earlier that day. At the centre of the city was the spaceport the ground littered with dead bodies of those trying desperately to escape the conflict. The communications tower lit up by the roaring fires. Moving corpses of once proud Ultramarines stalked the grounds their presence added a haunted chill to the once busy and lively city.
The Deamon Prince Sharazad stood upon the tower of a nearby landing pad overlooking the death and destruction that he and his servants had brought upon the city with pride. Below him in one of the ruins stood his 4 champions; The Darkmakers each of them immortal and gifted with the power to raise the dead. “So if we are not here to recruit these…people what are we doing here then?” said Zaceria he’s torn cape flapping wildly in the wind. “Yes I must agree why are we standing around doing nothing, when we should be tracking down the loyalist marines’ base?” replied Rokhan clenching his huge fists. Korell laughed
“you two are so simple minded” he looked up at his master still looking over ruins city “can’t you see that our master has a plan, all of this is nothing more that bait.”
“The Mentors don’t have a ground base they cower in their battle barge in orbit around the planet” Sindri added sitting on a nearby rock sharpening his sword.
“So that is why we were ordered to avoid damaging the communications tower until the rest of the city was destroyed” replied Zaceria “however there is great risk that one of the other races may pick up on that distress call they sent out.”
”Who cares whoever comes we shall grid them into dust!” Rokhan shouted,
“They’re here” Sharazad whispered, his voice heard clearly in their minds. Quickly they made their way over to the shattered windows where they saw an army of Mentor Space Marines advancing through the ruined city towards them. Sharazad spread his wings and shouted “Welcome servants of the false Emperor, you final hour is now!”
“Never deamon filth, your rain of terror over this world ends tonight!” a captain yelled back followed quickly by a roar from his fellow marines.
“Keep the Captain alive… kill the others” the deamon whispered into the minds of his followers. The deamon raised his arm and a huge deamonic sword appeared in his hand with a ghostly green glow. He then brought it down to face the approaching marines and screamed “now my warriors, ANNIHILATE THEM!!!”

Sorry, could you translate that into English?

Edit: After minutes of painstaking research on internet speak, I believe you are advising me to 'learn to write a list and play to win'.

I think I am trying to address those two areas on posts around this forum. Agaisnt Adam I played like a turnip, but learned from my mistakes. The list needs some work, but so does the painting and the latter will have to take priority in the short term so that I have more options.

In the next game, the meagre resources of Mithras Prime are up for the taking. Whilst the population of the planet flee, the factions must take and hold the various gifts the planet has to offer.

As you come across the resources available, you must determine which are most precious to you, as they will benefit your force in the next game.

There will be 5 objectives, with a bonus if you hold that objective (contested objectives do not count):

Medical Droid – In the next game 1 unit may be given the ‘feel no pain’ special rule.

Satellite uplink – In the next game you may call down an Orbital Bombardment.

Shield Generator – In the next game you may select a unit to have a 3+ cover save (this may not be improved by either going to ground or cammo cloaks etc.)

Teleport Homing device – In the next game you may re-roll deep strike mishap dice. Yours and/or you opponents.

Long Range Scanner – In the next game your force gets +2 to the seize initiative roll. Your opponent may not seize the initiative against you.

Place Objectives before determining set up or table edge etc. Random set up, Random Game Length.

1500 points, names in hat, 1 standard force organisational chart.

The more the merrier.

Im sorry, I didn't mean to be offensive, I think you played very well vs Adam(tactically/strategically) it's just I think you had a bad army list and you could win with a better army list imho.....as 90% of 40K imho is the armylist.

Im looking forward to this week anyways.

Thanks,

Lee

Who are you? What do you want? Who do you serve and who do you trust?

Now that you have had chance to look around Mithras Prime, and have found it full of various races and technological wonders; now that you may have had chance to review the original Dawn of War storyline on which the campaign is based; What are your objectives?

It will help the story writers and game planners much better if we can set you up with games that meet your narrative for your army.

If you wish for these to remain hidden, you can send me an e-mail or Private Message on the forum.

In January the games will be driven by the narrative, those questing for the key will fight the other factions for first look at the markers. Finally culminating in a massive battle with the best of the best of your forces, to finally take, or destroy the key.
Those of you who are not questing for the key- what are your goals?

The Mentors have not enjoyed their time so far on Mithras Prime. Held to a standstill by Orks, driven off their landing base by Undead Marines, and forced back by tides of tyranids. The remaining Mentors now abandon their base HQ and in a desperate drive to find the key bring the battle barge "Ascension" into a dangerously unsecured landing site.

They must secure the marker that shows the location of the key quickly, so the Librarian Lucas SomDucis has joined the force, minimising the time they need to study the marker and allowing them to return quickly to the battlebarge.
