Problem with the magic is that in a tournament setting with everyone worried about VCs you can either go heavy magic or don't bother.
Moderate magic will not do enough damage, or have enough influence on the game to justify its points.
Heavy magic with skaven is high risk/high reward. With the way my dice have been going ....
No magic then!
