£35 seems reasonable to me. Cost me over £50 to fill up my car with petrol and that lasts me less than a month. I predict these will last me a lot longer and give more pleasure to boot Gareth

I agree completely Gareth, when compared to other cost of living stuff, this old hobby is not too bad after all.
You pay £35 for a Leman Russ, Valkyrie, Vindicator, Land Raider or most Greater Deamons, blimey you even pay £25 for 10 plastic Greatswords......
Clever use of magnets will see people getting the use of both monstrosities, just not at the smae time.
I love the Rat Ogre and the Plague Monks, not to mention the Grey Seer.....

Horrendous price compared to other plastic models! As for the cost of the Goldswords!

I've got it.
It will be interesting to see how the really cheap troops and the expensive toys balance out. The plague monks with swinging censor look really good, but may run out of rats making it fairly redundant. The seer on the bell looks vulnerable to rank and file hitting him on the nose and making him sqeak. If only an opponent would challenge him and he can scurry to safety!
Loads of rats backed up by a doomwheel or two might be fun.
The weapon teams look like fun, especially the close combat one. But for the points, not sure yet.

I've got one too, I've only had a bit of a look so far. It looks good, with the possibility of lots of different types of armies. A few notes: - Not sure I like slaves exploding when they break from combat, as then there's no chance of them rallying and being sacrificed a second time/holding a table quarter. The hits they do will never do very much. The up side is that they won't flee and get in the way of my other troops. - In my current army list, I've saved 60pts on clanrats alone! This is good. - The death of poisoned wind globbies. They're still there, but now they are special, and 5+. Never ever gonna use them. - Plague censors are sick. No need for a plague monk unit, special choice, cheaper, and with an extra attack (three each now, if you includ the frenzy!). And stubborn near the poorly-bell. - WLC is kinda a cannon now. I like the change to it. - Nearly every misfire chart has a good thing as it's 6. Makes the skaven machines 1/6th more reliable! - Rare choices - do I use WLC, Doomwheel, or Abomination? A tough choice! - I like the weapon teams hiding in the parent unit. Stop them being sniped early on!
Gonna shut up now, and have a better look through.

Two Abominations for tournament play.
Backed up with Plague Monks with the swinging censor, Rat Ogres and 2 units of PCBs.
Round out with cheap core blocks, maybe a ratpack with special character champion and master moulder with electro whip.
I'll have to get a calculator out as my wish list is probably too long.
Will post a list on Army Submissions Page soon(ish)

The thing is if abominations roll a triple on movement they go nuts and the plague furnace kills as much of your own as it does the enemy, are you sure thats really a reliable tourney army?

Reliable skaven is an oxymoron.
Killing lots of your own rats is part of the fun, which is why the unit sizes have to be large (see my list).

Who cares how many of your own you kill, provided the enemy run out first! I'm not sure on the rat ogres, they're still quite pricey and (as far as I can tell) suffer from the old panic problem - loose a couple of packmasters to shooting, and they run away, as they have no real rank bonus.
I like the look of the new 'mincer on wheels' weapon team. I think they've still overpriced the WFT, though.
I agree with the double abominations being standard tourney fare, but I'm gonna hold onto my WLC - now a real cannon!
The main let down is the magic items - there's one or two nice ones (warp energy condenser, pipe of piebald, storm banner, banner of the under-empire), but not much. I've actually given my grey seer two power stones, for the first time ever. I can't see anyone ever buying warpstone tokens, as they cost 3/4 of a power stone but only give 1/2 the dice, and with a risk.
Anyone know what base size the abomination should be on - rules say 'base the model came with', but there's no model. Rules also say monsters are on 40mm on up, but that seems too small (couldn't even fit my Thing in the Woods onto a 40mm base). Gone with 50mm for now, until offical word comes out.
