Right, lets try this again shall we?
Please post here for any suggestions for future events. Whether it be tournements, campaigns, fun days, heck just about anything as long as it gets a minimum number of people in we don't mind!
So lets keep things civil shall we?
please note, try to use the edit button rather than double posting.
ps the original thread has been moved to the exec forum where all involved can hash this out without making a scene. _________________ (\_/)

Whats the GW Summer Campaign this year
Why don't we do something towards that you know have a few games bit of a laugh and send the pointless results in because we already know that The Empire (Fantasy) or the Imperium (40k) is going to win because we wouldn't want to rock the establishment now would we.
Just a thought

Actually, you may be on to something there. With Will helping out so much with the public events, I'm sure he could get a special scenario set up that would actually have some influence on the campaign. _________________ (\_/)

To my knowledge, there is no summer campaign.
GW are not happy with recent ones and have decided not to do one this year. Whether they do one next year is open to debate.

How about a campaign involving teams of 3 players per race for example:
Orks with James as Warboss with Will and Pip.
Pitted against another race like chaos which will involve a team of 3 players.
Thats my suggestion, I'd like a campaign with some narative in, but then again i'll be leaving lincoln for a few weeks after the 10th of Augest. _________________ My 3 Unique Armies

I agree with Ali. Running the Gobstykup as a one-day event would be pretty good. I've been to a few one-day BB events and they manage to fit four games in one day, would be great if we could make it an annual event!

Can I put Christmas meeting suggestions up here too?
Thanks.
Now then, one of our clubs objectives is to encourage people to play with painted armies. That is why we have the Silver Membership scheme (which has fallen by the side a bit)
I was thinking of a painting competition with a difference.
Basically at the Christmas meeting entrants produce a painted faction of Assault on Black Reach models. So either the Ork force or the Marine force from the boxed set. Models must reach an agreed minimum standard (use pictures from painting guides to illustrate)
Every member who brings said force gets a ticket. The winning ticket is drawn and wins a battleforce of either orks or marines. No need for subjective judging, we are rewarding effort and actually getting models painted more than anything else. Alternatively we could offer a squad box or something for 1 marine and 1 ork player. But I think the battleforce is a much better incentive.
Thoughts?

For saturday events, how about Hunt the Deamon. We'd need some greater deamons (I've got a kipper, I know Ali's got a LoC - any thirsters or GUOs out there?). People bring in a 600-1000pt force (TBD), and get assigned to a table. Four players to a table, one big deamon per table (controlled by a fifth person). The person who lands the killing blow wins the game. I predict much fighting between the four players towards the end of the game!
The assigning means that people can't tune their force too far (a GUO is different to a thirster). With all four GDs, we'd need four umpires and 16 players, but fewer people can be used with fewer deamons. If we get the full house, we could then have a final with the winner from each game, and crown us a Master Deamon Killer!
I think it'd work best with 40k, but fantasy could work as well.

i like that idea chris! but instead of having an army it could be an arena of death! make your hardest hero or lord (on foot) _________________ Brother Death "if you give a man fire he will stay warm for the night, set him on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!"

I can't think of that many characters that can stand toe to toe with a greater deamon. I think we'd have a lot of draws!
