Warrior Priest general. Great Weapon, Heavy, Icon of immune to fear/terror
Level 2 with staff and scroll

2 units of 10 handgunners both with hockland
20 Swordsmen FC with detachment of 6 halberdiers
11 crossbows
10 handgunners (no marksman)

Cannon
5 Pistoliers with outrider repeating pistol
6 Inner Circle Knights, FC, War banner

Helblaster

2250 add on

Arch Lector Van Horstman's Shield of the Gorgon, Relic, heavy armour
15 Great swords FC detachment of 5 halberdiers
5 White Wolf Knights FC Banner of the Daemonslayer
Helblaster

3000 add on

Wizard Lord with luckstone, doomfire ring, armour of Tarnus
level 2 with rod of power
Cannon
25 Spears FC with detachment of 6 archers

I think a Jack of all trades list. Good shooting, magic and combat. The rod enables me to switch from offence to defence in big games depending if my opponent has gone mad and taken, say, two seers.

Have you considered the scenarios you will have to play with each army?
You will have to play hold the line at both 1500 and 2250. What do you think your chances are of getting 2 US 10 units into the agressors table half at the end of the game? Whilst you have 7 scoring units 4 of them are move or fire missile troops. Of course you could just give that scenario up for lost to concentrate on the others. You have options for both last stand and rear-guard.

Your 2250 looks good as the agressor in hold the line, especialy with the onus on the homeland forces moving towards you.

For your 3000 point games. I think you should do fine at capture with 2 hellbasters and a stuborn immune to fear Greatsword unit. Defender in breakthrough looks good but what if you are attacker? To win you need 1000 points of troops in the defenders deployment zone at the end of the game (characters don't count) Do your swordsmen, spearmen, Great swords, Knights and pistoliers add up to 1000 and can you keep them healthy enough? Again you might just say sod the scenario and go for killing troops and getting VPs, It's a tough one for the attacker at the best of times!

What I see is a bias toward shooting which would seem to put you at a disadvantage in scenarios that require you to do the moving. That being said the awards do not reward victory in the scenarios so it might not be of any concern.

Erm, that list is kindof all my Empire models.

Unless I can borrow a steam tank? Wink

If you want to borrow a steam tank you can, but I don't think you need to.
Considering the 1500 point games to play I would do the following

Swap 2 units of hand-gunners for the Greatswords and Halberdier detachment and switch IC knights to regular ones to free the special slot.

As defender for rearguard you get a stubborn, immune to fear unit which can go a long way to slowing down your opponent.
As Homeland force in Hold the line you get another claiming unit.
As defenders in last stand You will have diffuculty in finding room to deploy all those missile units and seeing as you deploy first and can't move or fire fast enemy could be upon you before you have a chance to shoot.

Then bring back the handgunners for the 2250 and upgrade the White wolf knights to inner circle. (Str5 all the time is pretty good) In this game the homeland force has to come to you and now your Handgunners can really shine.

As for the 3000 point add on I would drop the level 2 wizard for a BSB. The re-roll on your stubborn Greatswords will help big time in capture and with SoM +AoMI he can boost your Swordsman unit. The Lector, Wizard Lord(Drop luckstone for Rod), Priest and Wizard provide you 8 dispel dice + those stored in rod + scroll. More than enough counter magic IMO.

Sounds like a plan.

I'm sure I can cobble together a BSB, if not use an existing model with a little paint up.
