A couple of years ago the club organised a club trip, paintballing & much fun and merryment was had during the day, Will got hit in the "nadgers" & the neck in the space of a few seconds, Andy "shoot me....or i'll shoot me" Dodd took the award for the looniest Gobstyk........he let us shoot him.....for fun !!!, & of course, the smoke grenades did not work !!!, but a great day was had.

I was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in a game of "shoot'em up !!", if we have enough interest from the membership this could be arranged for around April-May time. Anyway i am just dipping my toe in the water, you all may hate paintballing !!, but let me know if any of you are interested.

Well, to be fair Will is half right. The Members of the Exec do have specific jobs, that they are asked to achieve on the behalf on the membership when elected to office. This is so roles are defined, and the member will know what is required when they consider standing for the position.

But, with greater co-operation between Exec members, the esprit de corps among the current exec shows a fantastic enthusiasm to liase across the "job titles" to support and co-operate with each other. For example, while Big James is a fantastic caretaker, and sets up the entire club pre-opening, it is only fair that the rest of the exec help him, at the end of the night to clear away. If Ali is away on a Thursday night, another exec member will forfil his role of checking subs. And if Phil cannot Reach the bank to deposit our takings, then an Exec can step up and also help him meet the responsibilities expected.


And Pete is also right, as long as their is consultation and understanding, then Any member of the exec can forfil a "delegated" role or one they may have volunteered to forfill !!.....like organising a Paintball Day or the manufacture of a Gamesday Board.

In essence, it means the Exec can be more pro active in providing support to the club and its members, making Gobstyks a better club to attend. And not wanting to "teach my grandmother to suck eggs", its similiar to the way the GCN council works.

I am definatley up for Paintball, saturdays are good, after 12.00 just in case I have to be in work, usually know in advance so it does not make much of a difference, but

HELL YES, PAINTBALL IS GOOD FUN!!!! Can we invite NON Gobstyks Friends along if they wish to come?
