I bought those new Citadel washes today and have tried a couple out on a current painting project. I have never been a fan of ink or ink washing on anything other than metal because of the nasty nasty shiny finish they give and how they dry very uneven. These new ones however are matt finish, which is excellent and they give a nice and even coverage. On the downside they are a wash so take a long time to dry but with the matt finish when dry you will know when they are actually dry and not balls up any further layers because you are having to guess. Also they are not as crisp as a traditional ink but do a nice job of bridging the gap between the base colour and the highlight.

All in all a super buy. Well done me!!
