i have compared the old and current rules, as i said in my last post we will be using the new rules with some changes. as for the redemptionists, again the new rules will be used with some changes (the new rules don't allow grenade launchers and there is a model supplied with one!) scavvies will use the new rules (there a re only a couple of minor changes since the old rules) spyrers will use the either rules (the rules have not changed apart from adding the matriarch and patriarch, these make the gang too hard at lower levels so will have to have a gang rating at least 500 below) ratskins can use either full set of rules but must declair which rules they are using before the campaign and cannot change

Just had a flick through the rules to check something and I have a question about the 'wounding shot experience'. According to the experience rules in the scenarios:

'A fighter earns 5 points for each wounding hit he inflicts during the
battle. Make a note on the gang roster every time the fighter scores a hit and wounds his target. Although it is possible to inflict several wounds from one shot using some weapons, only 5 points are earned when this happens not 5 points per wound.'

...and according to the sustained fire dice rules:

'Each shot is treated as a separate shot...'

So it would seem that this means that you score a wounding hit per individual shot made when making multiple shots with sustained fire dice weapons and also when using certain skills (such as 'Rapid Fire'). Hence you would also get a wounding hit per wounding close combat dice as well. From re-reading the rules several times it looks like the 'several wounds from one shot' is referring to weapons that cause dx (d3.d6.etc) wounds with each successful wound roll.

Just checking that I am right in my understanding that this is how the wound xp rule works, thereby meaning that heavies, etc, should probably be earning xp quite quickly and would also encourage the usage of the maximum number of sustained fire dice possible; risking more ammo rolls.

When are we due to be starting the campaign? I'll be back at the club on Thur 06 Aug & was wondering whether to bring my Necro gang, or sort out a game of 40K?

Cool. I'll be there on 06 Aug with a new gang to blood; does anyone (ideally without a monsterous gang rating) fancy a game?

Also, are we allowed to recruit previous gang members from old gangs, or is it a complete fresh start?

Fresh start. You might be lucky to get a game this week as Ralph, who has the rule books (including the 'Outlanders' rulebook from which we are rolling up a dangerous condition for each battle) and terrain is away on holiday. You could get lucky of course and get a battle in, I suggets going for one of the enforcers teams or the Spyrers as although they sound like daunting opponents they have small gangs and are unlikely to have gang ratings as high as those of us with traditional gangs (I think at least three of us are past the 2,000 mark).

Ta, I have the basic (new) rule book, so I'll see if anyone fancies a game.

the following of this Necro campaign is starting to get a bit lacklustre, should we start to wind it up and get ready to start Mordheim in a couple of months, or should we carry it on and run Mordheim along side?
i think to stop boredom, running Gorka, Necro, Mordheim and maybe others all at once may be the way forward although the scenery may be difficult to transport all at once.

It is also difficult for anyone who is interested in the campaigns, but is also wanting to play anything else at the club.

No, what I am saying is, if I want to play 40k (I am currently in a 40k campaign, as well as practicing for Open War with a different army), and then I wanted to play Necro and Mordheim, I wouldn't realistically have the time, and thats without even thinking about Warhammer, or Magic (if I played it).

So, I think it would be easier to play just one system at a time, dedicating ourselves to that for a few months, and then moving on to another.

For the record, would anyone be interested in throwing Blood Bowl into the mix of systems, or maybe 28mm Inquisitor.

i think you'll find pip there is currently a bloodbowl tournement! but if you want to have a league then i could run one without a problem that just keeps going until it finishes or people get bored but at least there will be games!

There is a BB league Ali, and one game has been played in it.

I would like to have an old format league, play some games over a couple of months, then have a quarter final.
