Saturday 21st June has been provisionally booked for a Bring-&-Battle tournament. A simple system based on getting as many people playing different systems as possible.

Although the rules still need finalising, they are as follows:
-Standard £2 entry (£2 for 8 hours of gaming!)
-Bring as many gaming systems along as possible that you play with.
-Play 4 games in timed slots (more games can obviously be played but only 4 will count)
-These games can be played in any gaming system as long as there is someone to play
-3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 for a loss and 1 Point per battle system played over your 1st. (I.E. 3 points if you play 4 different systems)
-Overall winner will win a prize, with additional prize going to person with most points over most gaming systems (rules regarding a draw after all the games have been played TBA)
-For each gaming system played each competitor will receive a raffle ticket (i.e. if you only play 1 system for all 4 games you only get 1 ticket).

Numbers will have to be high in order for the event to go ahead. Unfortunately these events do cost a pretty penny and if we do not have the high enough level of entry then it won’t happen. Announcement on 29/05/08 will be a deadline for the decision to go ahead.

Anybody interested?

Can I suggest we also state what systems we intend playing, so we can get an idea if it worth bringing a certain game along.

I am intending on bringing.

Warhammer
40k
Blood Bowl
Vampire tES

Also, I have some board games, and we have such games as Munchkin. Will these be allowable, or do we stick to major games.

Anna suggests sticking to the usual club games.

Board games, and liar dice, can be played between rounds should we be done.

How will game sizes be decided?

I intend to bring (provided I can make it):
- Babylon 5
- Warhammer
- Dreamblade
- Horrorclix
- Magic
- Star Wars minis
- Starcraft
- A Game of Thrones

And any others I can think of...

That would surely be up to you and your opponent to decide.

As you only have 90 minutes to play your game, you may be able to get a standard sized game in (unless you play Skaven).

Perhaps the exec could discuss game sizes and let us know?

It would be easier, for instance I really don't want to have to write multiple lists for each gaming system!

How will the day be structured cause work won't let me have the day off so I'll have to work until 12 before I can get up to the club?

Regarding fantasy and 40k, will the armies have to be fully painted?

I assume there are no scores for painting?

Perhaps the exec could discuss this and let us know.

Edit: Anna says they do not need to be painted, and for what it is worth I agree with the reasoning that for this event anything that stops people from participating in a system should be discouraged.

Any chance of the values that were set being put up here? I can't remember all of them...
